Happy Thanksgiving! I'm so grateful for this boy. It's hard to not have him here for the holidays but he's happy and spreading the good news of the gospel so that makes it a little easier. Thanks to all of you for your support, love, and prayers on his behalf. Have a wonderful holiday. -K
This week was really nice! I went on an exchange on Tuesday and Wednesday with Elder Covington. He and I are super good friends. We went around teaching all day and ended up at the beach. At this point it was dark and pretty cold. We were walking down the boardwalk when we saw someone sitting at the end that we decided to talk to. Elder Covington scared her to death which was pretty funny. It was this 17 year old girl named Natasha and she had a lot of really cool religious views and she was super smart. Like genuinely really smart. And I would like to think that we really sparked an interest in her. She's meeting with the missionaries now. Anyway. While we were talking these other people came up and we said hi to them and chatted for a bit and I said that I was new to Jersey. Then he just looks at me with a strait face and says, "Do you know that Jesus loves you?" Super funny. I told him we were missionaries and he was elated. He was super happy that we were talking about Jesus and gave us his address so we could talk to him more about it. This Wednesday and Friday we did service at this food bank in Neptune. Full of old ladies who asked us to lift stuff for them. I had a super fun time. On Friday they were giving out turkeys and other thanksgiving stuff and we were helping carry things when this old sassy black woman came in and her eyes lit up when she saw us. Turns out it was Sister Annie Hall, whom I've heard so much about. In fact every time I've gone to Jersey Shore Medical Center to visit someone or give a blessing it's because it was a referral from her. She's like missionary famous. She was super excited to see us. But it turns out that she didn't sign up for that day to get food and they couldn't give her anything and she was visibly distraught. I offered to pay for her but apparently you can't do that at a food bank. So my hearts broken and she is leaving and she comes up to us and says "Boys, you guys have a place to go for thanksgiving right? Because if not then there's always a big meal waiting for you at my house." This woman was just denied food from a food bank and she turns around and offers to feed us. It was just really touching so I wanted to share it. We had interviews with president this week. Man I love that guy. We now have interviews with him during zone conferences and every transfer which is a big change. So I love Facebook missionary work right? I love it. It's like knocking doors but I can knock 100 doors at the same time. I shared with president about how I found Roomaan on Facebook and now he has a baptismal date and a few other cool stories and now apparently he's going around to different zones telling people how we're "famous." We've gotten several calls from other missionaries and given advice on online missionary work. Just kind of a funny thing. But I'm doing just fine. I'm happy and healthy and I love my mom. I can answer any questions that you have at any time. Today is going to be super chill. We're going to the mall to buy pants and then we're going to hang around and adventure a little bit. It's like 40 degrees today which is really cold. Maybe I'll take a nap! Who knows! And tonight we have a few lessons to teach and whatnot. Know that I'm so happy. I pray you are too. I love you. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXXOXOXOX --your boy
